Hi there,
Just joined the forum although I have been on the Australian forum for a good while. Have enjoyed it although a lot of the topics obviously did not apply!
Nice to have a European one of our own!
We have been in Ireland for three years now, were living in Midrand prior to our move.
Love Ireland and have settled in well although still missing family in SA.
Am looking forward to chatting to you all
Jen

Hi Jen!
Great to hear there is another member from Ireland. Paisely is also from Ireland. I see you have been there for quite some time now. How long before you can apply for citizenship?
Hope to see a lot of you here on the forum. Would be nice to read some of your experiences in the journals. Welcome to our online family. Hope you meet lots of nice people here on the forum.

Hi Dedre,
Thanks for the welcome.
Will definitely post in the journals!
I am lucky enough to have citizenship through my parents. You can normally apply for permanent residence/citizenship after 5 years.
My husband was able to get his citizenship based on us having been married prior to 2003 and for longer than three years.
look forward to many discussions in the future.
Jen

Hi Paisley,
Thanks, so you have been here 7 years? Where were you from in SA?
How do you find it here, have you settled in totally?
Dedre, what about you? I gather you are still in SA, are you planning on moving over here?

Jen,
Yes, we have applied for HSMP, and now we are waiting. Found out that we might wait long as they are apparently swamped with applications.
