Hallo there to everybody out there! I'm in the USA and part and parcel of SAEU's sister forum SAUSA.

I want to encourage all European expats, or potential expats, to embrace this opportunity created by Hendie, the chief induna of not only this forum, but also SAUSA, SACanada and SAAustralia. SAAustralia in particular, is a success story second to none.

SAEU forum was created to be of service to all those who have questions regarding emigration, etc. Embrace it but don't abuse it. The forum is not there for mud-slinging matches, dirty laundry, vile jokes, discrimination or anything derogatory.

It was created to become a source of valuable information as time goes by. And not only that, use it to meet people who are in the same boat as you are, to chit-chat and (most importantly) to provide encouragement and support to each other.

I'll visit often, because, when everything is said and done, we are all South African by heart, not so?

Whether we moved to the USA, UK or Timbuktu, or are about to move there, we can all relate to the same things, sounds, tastes and smells - hence my interest in our sister forums, although I reside in the USA. We are all going through the same emotions and we all have a story to tell. Mine will be different to yours, and your experiences in your adopted country might be, will be and could be different to mine.

But that is the beauty of a forum like this, isn't it? Not only can we share a lot, but we can also learn from each other.

I don't think you will be able to "use" me, because I don't stay in the European environment and will be somewhat of a dud when it comes to handing out advice to people, but you have my support and I will contribute when and where I can.
