I thought I would give a very short introduction to Germany, and hopefully later this can be expanded upon!

I've only been living in Germany for about 2 months, after having lived in Canada for almost 4 years.

I fell in love with Germany the first time I spent some time here. Germany is remarkable in many ways, and the most obvious of these are surely that they are very regulated. The fact that they are so regulated is sometimes a bit of an irritation, but I have come to realize that the advantage of such regulation is that EVERY SYSTEM I have come across so far, works! Sometimes it takes a bit longer than it would in Canada for instance, but you can be sure that it will work.

Germany is extremely clean, organized and has probably the most well traveled population in the world.

It is not easy to emigrate to Germany. You need to have very close ties to Germany, before you will be able to do so and at some later stage I will talk more about this.

The easiest for most South Africans would be to be sponsored by a German company, since engineers are very saught after.

If you are considering coming to Germany, I would only recommend it if you are willing to learn German, otherwise you may feel quite isolated. Fortunately, for us Afrikaans people, we are able to pick up the language relatively quickly (perhaps 1 year).

I already love being here and I look forward to hearing about others that may be interested in moving to Germany!

The extreme regulation got to me....

You will have to learn German, and be sure to be corrected until you get it 100% correct. In any event, I believe that one should learn the local language if you want to stay in a country for a long time in any event.. In Germany's case -- a must.
