Whohoo! My 'old' friend! Glad to see you registered here! Charl is 'busy' activating his subscription... but in the mean time my computer was broken... and now he has none!
Since I am the only one who probably knows you, how about an introduction in the Foyer for the rest of us to get to know you better?
We are going to chat up a storm here. Is Bronwyn also registering or are you both using your account? (Assuming now that she wants to).

There are several that I am planing to implement.
1. We are busy working on a coffee club for SAcans moving to Canada with a stop in the UK. We will mostly advertise that one on the SACanada site, due to the relevance to Canada. (UK: Canada Coffee Club)
2. Then I would like to get a coffee club together for SAcans on this site already in the UK. (Thinking of London). (UK: London Coffee Club)
3. Then one, as you mentioned, for SAcans still here in SA getting together (Cape Town and other cities) to discuss their move to the UK. (UK: Cape Town / Gauteng Coffee Clubs)
What did you have in mind? If we have two people, we have a coffee club.
Then there are the Coffee Clubs for other countries that will implement over time.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a coffee club? Is it only for people who would like to emmigrate?
Thanks,
Lydia

I always assumed a Coffee Club, is in short a name for what we regard as a social get together, for people in the same boat. In SA it is rather more a Coffee Club, and once people are abroad they just call it a get together (for some reason.) People get together to discuss their situation and how they deal with it, find tips and advice and inspiration.
But hey,

So, if it's for everybody, I wouldn't mind a Swiss coffee club - now I just need that second person?!
Any takers?

Recently it has become evident that many folks make a halfway stop in the UK, while waiting for their Canadian or Australian (or whatever) application to be processed. So it looks like there may now even be a coffee club starting up in London for that purpose.
All-in-all the idea is to share with others who are in the same "boat" as you are, and to at least have a sympathetic ear to share your experiences with.
That does not preclude the idea of starting get-togethers in the destination countries, but we felt to leave that to the local expat clubs to arrange. In the absence of such a club in your country, feel free to use the forum in order to arrange something!
Enjoy!

There you go! You do really only need two people. Yourself and someone else. Good luck.

Lydia there is a SA Swiss Club in Switzerland. I do not know how active they are? Maybe you should try and win them over to your "schnaps club". I will have a look as I had a link somewhere. Will come back to you on this one.

That'll be great if you can find a link for me. I had a link here for a club but their site does not work anymore. The other club is in the German part of Switzerland - a bit far for me.

For those going to Canada, I have this link: http://www.sacanada....showtopic=12375
But as Rustig said, it might be too busy maybe... But look at the venues and maybe you guys may make use of those as well. Do you think you guys would like to meet up with the Canadian bunch as well? I would have loved to. But it is just a suggestion.

Rubens - Belongs to a South African.
If London Center is too much to handle than we can move bit out towards Windsor. Remember London never sleeps and it is always busy. I will be in UK end 28 June so I will ask at hotel.
